Quentin Tarantino is set to have Will Smith lined up to play a slave in his upcoming, spaghetti western movie Django Unchained.
Tarantino hand-picked the I-Robot star to play the title character of a freed slave looking for his wife. The movie is a follow-up to his 2009 war movie, Inglorious Basterds.
The movie will see the return of Christoph Waltz, who played a Nazi officer in Inglorious Basterds. The role won him an Oscar at the 2009 awards.
The Austrian actor is pitched to play a German Bounty hunter who wants to take down an evil plantation owner. Samuel L. Jackson is also rumoured to be joining the cast.
Filming is scheduled to begin later this year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
