Saoirse Ronan appears to have joined the cast of The Hobbit.
While the movie suffered another hit this week with Peter Jackson having to under go surgery for an ulcer there is some good news as The Atonement star joins the cast.
Ronan worked with Jackson on The Lovely Bones and while it wasn’t revealed which character she will play she looks to be heading to New Zealand.
A casting director told IFTN: And working with Peter Jackson is like working with a family. So they’ll have a great time.
“Saoirse’s family will go too, everyone is very close and very loving on those sorts of jobs. It’s not like typical studio movies at all.”
The sixteen year old actress had been linked to the role of Itaril.
We last saw Ronan on the big screen in Peter Weir’s The Way Back but she reunites with Joe Wright later this year for Hanna.
