Seth Rogen has revealed that he based his character in The Green Hornet on Paris Hilton.

The actor is back on the big screen this week in the Michel Gondry directed picture and he admits that he drew on some real life people for his rich, party boy character.

Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "We kind of based him off a male Paris Hilton, as embarrassing as that is to say.

"That is what we looked at — those people who are the sons or daughters of people who have accomplished great things.

“We probably give them a little more credit than they've gotten in the past and we explore why they're such jerks and why they act out. Maybe it's because they didn't get the attention they wanted."

The Green Hornet is the first movie for Rogen since he starred in Funny People back in 2009 but he leads and all star cast of Jay Chou, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz and Tom Wilkinson.

And Rogen has a whole host of projects in the pipeline this year - he has already completed work on Live With It and Take This Waltz as well as lending his voice to Paul and Kung Fu Panda 2.

The Green Hornet is released 14th January.
