Sylvester Stallone has admitted that there was plenty of competition between the cast members on the set of The Expendables 2.
The actor reprises the role of Barney Ross this week, two years after The Expendables blasted onto the big screen for the first time.
The likes of Jet Li, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren are back while there are bigger roles for Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Speaking to Cover Media the actor said: "There was lots of competition on set, no one wants to be second, that's why everyone pushed really hard.
"Being competitive is why we are so established and the people that we are. We want to be the best and usually we are."
This is the first big screen outing for Stallone since he played Ross for the first time back in 2010.
But we are going to be seeing plenty more of him as he has already completed work on Bullet to the Head and The Tomb, the latter sees him once again team up with Schwarzenegger.
The Expendables 2 is out now.
