Tara Reid will not be appearing in the next American Pie sequel after negotiations surrounding her return to the franchise broke down, according to reports.
Her comeback was expected to be finalised on Friday (10Apr09), but sources tell movie news website MovieHole.net a deal could not be done in time.
Reid, who recently spent time in rehab for a drinking problem, was expected to reprise her Vicki Lathum character from the first two American Pie films for a seventh film, called Book of Love.
Original American Pie star Eugene Levy has signed on for the new film, alongside crooner Wayne Newton and U.S. TV favourite Sherman Helmsley from The Jeffersons.
American Pie came to the big screen for the very first time in 1999 and was a teen sex comedy directed by Paul and Chris Weitz.
The film grossed over $235 million in the US alone and has spawned a series of successful sequels.
