Terry Gilliam, former Monty Python star and director will be given a Bafta Fellowship during the ceremony on Sunday night.

The filmmaker is best known for being part of the Monty Python comedy group that shot to fame in the seventies.

he has gone on to be a highly regarded director with Brazil (1985), Twelve Monkeys (1995), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998).

He told the BBC: "Awards and honours I've kind of shied away from, but this one I'm happy to take.

"I keep asking myself, why me? It was quite a surprise when they said we'll give you the Fellowship, as I don't expect these kinds of things. I just get on and do what I do."

His next movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus will be the last time that we see Heath Ledger on the big screen. ledger died of an accidental overdose last January while he was working on this project.

Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law stepped in to take over Ledger's role and help Gilliam complete the movie as a tribute to the actor.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday 8th February at London's Royal Opera House.
