Tim Burton has revealed that he has no plans to shoot Dark Shadows in 3D.

Dark Shadows is a movie that will be based on the 1960's soap opera of the same name that will sees Burton reunite with Johnny Depp.

And while the director shot Alice In Wonderland in 3D he has no plans to do that with his upcoming project.

Speaking to TheWrap the filmmaker said: "I have no plans for that. I loved doing Alice in 3D. Frankenweenie (Tim's upcoming film), gonna do that in 3D,"

Dark Shadows will be the eighth collaboration between Depp and Burton -  in which Depp will play vampire Barnabas Collins.

"I just had an immediate connection with him. We're friends and colleagues, and we've always taken the tack of not working together just to work together.

"It's got to be the right part, the right movie, all of that sort of thing.

"There's a good sort of non-communicative communication, you know. Because especially back then I was not a good verbal communicator, and he's a bit similar, but there's more of a psychic kind of connection, I would say, that sort of has remained."

Frankenweenie is another movie in the pipeline as well as serving as producer on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which is currently being filmed.
