Tom Cruise says that he is trying to figure out the script for Top Gun 2.
There have been whispers that a second Top Gun movie was being planned and that Cruise looked set to return for some time.
And now Cruise offered an update on just where the project was up to - admitting that he would like to return.
Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "We're working on it.
"We'll see what happens, if I can figure out the script and we get it. It would be fun getting into those jets. I want to get in those jets!"
But at the moment Cruise is showing off his rock and roll side as well as his singing ability in new movie Rock of Ages.
The actor plays rocker Stacee Jaxx in the Adam Shankman directed film, which also stars Julianne Hough, Paul Giamatti and Catherine Zeta Jones.
Rock of Ages is released 15th June.
