Tom Hanks Laments Golden Globes Cancellation....

Tom Hanks is disappointed by the cancellation of the Golden Globes ceremony - as it is "one of the best bashes" on the Hollywood social calendar.The Forrest Gump star insists Sunday's (13Jan08) awards ceremony - which will this year take the form of a news conference after members of the Screen Actors Guild (Sag) boycotted the event in support of the Writers Guild of America strike - will be a missed opportunity for him to have fun.He says, "It's a shame, the Globes are one of the best bashes. They ply you with food and really nice champagne. I was always satisfied with a little tipple, and you get to catch up with loads of friends.".
