Tom Hooper says that Les Miserables is so popular because of the way that it makes people feel.
Hooper was on the red carpet this week as Les Miserables got it's London premiere.
Speaking from that premiere Hooper said that Hugh Jackman was the only actor that he considered for the role of Jean Valjean.
Les Miserables is the first film for Hooper since his Oscars success with The King's Speech.
He could well have more Oscar success coming his way as the movie is building Oscar momentum and is likely to pick up a Best Picture nod.
