With a gross of £3.7 million Garry Marshall's return to the director's chair opened at #1, repeating the success it had had in Australia and America.

Avatar, which wasn't far behind with £3.3 million, had to settle for the second spot. The Wolfman was another new entry at three.

Disney's The Princess and the Frog fell two places from two to four while Percy Jackson was another new entry to round off the top five.

It was a great box office performance for Mu Name Is Khan, which opened at number six. A Single Man, despite Colin Firth Best Actor OScar nomination could only manage eighth.
