Zac Efron has spent no time at all filling the gap where Footloose would have been on his schedule as he is set to star in The Death And Life Of Charlie St. Cloud.
The, which is an adaptation of the novel by Ben Sherwood, sees him reteam with 17 Again filmmaker Burr Steers which is released later this year.
Efron will take the title role the caretaker of the cemetery where his young brother is buried.
His brother was killed in a car crash that he was responsible for but at night he comes back as a ghost to play catch.
This comes just a days since the teenage heartthrob revealed that he had left the remake of the 1984 classic Footloose, where Efron was going to take over Kevin Bacon's role.
Production on The Death And Life Of Charlie St. Cloud is excepted to begin this summer.
