Zachary Levi has admitted that he only worked with Mandy Moore in the studio once during the recording of their new movie Tangled.

Levi and Moore lent their voices to the new Disney movie, which is based on the story of Rapunzel, but the pair were only in the studio together to record their duet.

Speaking at the Hollywood premiere for the movie the actor said: "Probably the most challenging thing is you have to do it by yourself.

"Mandy and I both thought we'd at least have a little dialogue together and we didn't do any of it together."

"We did the song but we didn't do any recording sessions together for the dialogue. But it's awesome, it works!"

Levi voices the role of Flynn in the movie and admits that Tangled is not your average Disney fairytale movie.

"He's not your archetypical Disney prince but that's what's so great to me, I feel like both Rapunzel and Flynn are not what you expect from a Disney fairytale movie," Zachary insisted.

"I've been calling it a kind of animated, family-friendly Romancing The Stone. It's these two people at opposite ends of the spectrum meeting each other, having this bond and changing each other along the way."

Tangled is released 28th January 2011.
