Zachary Quinto admits that he understands the delay on the Star Trek sequel.
The actor took over the role of Spock when director J.J. Abrams rebooted the popular franchise back in 2009.
And Abrams admitted that he had no intention to rush a sequel - something that Quinto is more than happy with.
Speaking to the Associated Press the actor said: "I think there was an implicit understanding that we would do it again, and that we would all be really excited when that time came, but that it probably wouldn't be for [a while].
"You can't go through something so sweeping and so powerful an experience and expect to do it again right away.
"Everybody wanted to let it settle and we all went off and did other stuff, and now we're gearing up to go back to it, eventually, at some point."
We will be seeing Quinto back on the big screen later this month as he joins Anna Faris and Chris Evans in comedy What's Your Number.
