A Most Violent Year is set to be one of the January movies that is not to be missed, and a brand new teaser poster has arrived.

A Most Violent Year marks the return of J.C. Chandor to the director's chair for the first time since All Is Lost, in what is the third feature film of his directing career. Chandor has also penned the screenplay for the new movie.

This is one of the January movies that I cannot wait to see as it will see Jessica Chastain team up with Oscar Isaac - two of the most in demand actors at the moment.

Isaac and Chastain will play husband and wife in the new film, while David Oyelowo, Alessandro Nivola, Albert Brooke and Elyes Gabel are also on board.

A Most Violent Year is a searing crime drama set in New York City during the winter of 1981, statistically the most dangerous year in the city’s history.

Chandor’s gripping story plays out within a maze of rampant political and industry corruption plaguing the streets of a city in decay and examines one immigrant’s determined climb up a morally crooked ladder, where simmering rivalries and unprovoked attacks threaten his business, family, and - above all - his own unwavering belief in the righteousness of his path.

January is set to be a terrific month is you are a film fan with a whole host of unmissbale and exciting movies on the horizon... A Most Violent Year is just one that you cannot miss.

A Most Violent Year is released 23rd January 2015.
