Alicia Vikander is set to star alongside Michael Fassbender in The Light Between Oceans.
The Light Between Oceans is a big screen adaptation of the novel by M.L. Stedman, and will mark the return of Derek Cianfrance to the director's chair.
Cianfrance has been behind Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines, but The Light Between Oceans will see him work with both Vikander and Fassbender for the first time, reports Deadline.
This movie also marks the first time that Fassbender has worked with Vikander, as they play a lighthouse keeper and his wife. When they find a dead body and a baby in a rowboat, they decide to raise the child as their own.
Vikander has been making a name for herself in the last couple of years, with the likes A Royal Affair and Anna Karenina under her belt.
She has also completed work on Seventh Son, Son of a Gun, Ex Machina, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Vikander is currently filming Testament of Youth, which is based on Vera Brittain's recollections of coming of age during World War I.
Vikander will takes on the role of Brittain in the film, while Hayley Atwell, Emily Watson, Dominic West and Miranda Richardson are also on board.
