'Man of Steel' is more "raw" than previous Superman films, according to Amy Adams.

The Oscar-nominated actress - who takes on the iconic role of Lois Lane, the love interest of Superman and his alter-ego Clark Kent - has revealed that cinema-goers shouldn't expect the same humorous banter seen between Lois and Clark in the Christopher Reeve films in Zack Snyder's upcoming re-imagining of the comic book movie.

She said: "It's more raw, a little less quippy. Hopefully you'll enjoy the banter and relationship between Lois and Clark, but it's a totally new imagining of the story."

Adams admits she became "overwhelmed" seeing Snyder's final cut of the film because she's not used to watching action-packed movies.

She explained to the new issue of British ELLE magazine: "I was shaking by the end of it. I realised that I hadn't seen a film with that much action in it since 'Avatar', but it is a lot of fun."

The actress will star alongside British actor Henry Cavill, who is set to don the Superman cape in the reboot, while Michael Shannon plays villain General Zod.

Other cast members include Oscar winners Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner, as Superman's biological father Jor-El and adoptive father Jonathan Kent, respectively.
