Hathaway teams up with McConaughey for the first time with upcoming sci-fi epic Interstellar - which sees Christopher Nolan return to the director's chair.

And the actress was thrilled to get the chance to work with the fellow Oscar winner.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the actress said: "He's just a very easy guy to be around, he's very inspiring as a human being, and he takes real delight in life.

"He approaches things from a place of deep respect and deep joy, and I just had the best time working with him.

"I always loved him before, you know - he's Matthew McConaughey, he's a fun time! But my respect for him deepened so much, and now I really look up to him. I kind of look at him like a big brother."

Interstellar follows a group of explorers who set out to discover a wormhole in space.

An all star cast has been assembled for the film, as Hathaway and McConaughey are joined by Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Michael Caine, and Casey Affleck are all on board.

As for Hathaway, she has also completed work on Don Peyote.
