Anthony Mackie

Anthony Mackie thinks that there should be a Wonder Woman film.

We are going to see Wonder Woman return to the big screen in Batman vs Superman in 2016 - played by Gal Gadot.

And Mackie believes that young girls need a positive role-model like Wonder Woman to look up to.

Speaking to geekdad.com, the actor said: "Scarlett [Johansson] does great representation of [Black Widow] for all the other girls, but there should be a Wonder Woman movie.

"I don't care if they make 20 bucks, if there's a movie you're gonna lose money on, make it Wonder Woman. You know what I mean, because little girls deserve that.

"There's so many of these little people out here doing awful things for money in the world of being famous. And little girls see that. They should have the opposite spectrum of that to look up to."

Mackie is riding high at the top of the U.S. and UK box office at the moment with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Mackie joined the Captain America franchise, as we were introduced to the character of The Falcon for the first time.

The movie has so far grossed in excess of $480 million at the global box office, and has been winning over critics and audiences.

Captain America 3 is set to go head to head with Batman vs Superman when both films are released on 6th May, 2016.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is out now.
