Idris Elba may be embroiled in a lot of James Bond talk at the moment but he is set to return with his new film project Beasts of No Nation.

Elba's performance in the film, which will be shown on Netflix in October, is already winning over the critics and I really cannot wait to see him in action.

Beasts of No Nation is based on the novel by Uzodinma Iweala and sees Cary Fukunaga back in the director's chair for the first time since his success with TV series True Detective. As well as being in the director's chair, Fukunaga has also penned the screenplay.

Beasts of No Nation has been performing well on the festival circuit and now the brand new trailer for the film has arrived:

Elba is set to take on the role of a warlord in the film, while we will be introduced to Abraham Attah, who plays child soldier Agu.

The movie received its world premiere at Venice Film Festival and is also set to play at the Toronto Film Festival, which kicks off later this week.

Based on the highly acclaimed novel by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala, Beasts of No Nation brings to life the gripping tale of Agu, a child soldier torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country.

Newcomer Abraham Attah gives a stunning portrayal of Agu, while Elba dominates the screen in the role of Commandant, a warlord who takes in Agu and instructs him in the ways of war.

Beasts of No Nation will debut globally on Netflix on Friday 16th October.
