Directed by Felix Van Groeningen and based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son duo David and Nic Sheff comes upcoming movie Beautiful Boy, starring Steve Carell, Timothée Chalamet, Maura Tierney and Amy Run. This week, a fantastic first look trailer and still for the film have been released, both of which you can check out below:

Chronicling the inspiring real-life story of survival, relapse, and recovery, Beautiful Boy will explore the bonds that tie a family together, who have all been dealing with addiction over a number of years.

Carell steps into the role of David, father to Nic (Chalamet), who's battling against his drug addiction.

Speaking with Interview magazine last June, Chalamet said of his role: "I've been working with Steve Carell and just feel like the luckiest kid in the world. I love being able to see how people sink into the material -like watching you work your way through scenes, trying new things, always keeping it fresh."

Whilst we've got some time to wait until this flick hits the big screen, at least in the UK, both David and Nic Sheff's memoirs titled Beautiful Boy and Tweak respectively, are out now.

Beautiful Boy comes to cinemas across the UK on January 18, 2019.
