Camp X-Ray

Camp X-Ray

Kristen Stewart is set to return to the big screen in new drama Camp X-Ray, which sees her move away from her Twilight image and tackle a role that we have not seen her deliver so far in her career.

X-Ray sees Peter Sattler on directing and writing duties as he makes his feature film directorial debut.

Stewart has a string of exciting projects on the horizon, and Camp X-Ray is one of them; her central performance is already winning praise on the festival circuit.

And Stewart takes centre stage as Pvt. Amy Cole in the latest trailer for the film, which has been released IFC Films:

Peyman Moaadi will take on the other central role of Amir Ali, while Julia Duffy, John Carroll Lynch, and Lane Garrison are some of the other names on the cast list.

A young woman joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and her small town roots. But she ends up as a new guard at Guantanamo Bay instead, where her mission is far from black and white.

Surrounded by hostile jihadists and aggressive squadmates, she strikes up an unusual friendship with one of the detainees.

A story of two people, on opposite sides of a war, struggling to find their way through the ethical quagmire of Guantanamo Bay. And in the process, they form an unlikely bond that changes them both.

Camp X-Ray is set to play at the BFI London Film Festival over the next twelve days, and is set to be one of the most thought provoking films on the programme.

Camp X-Ray will be released in the U.S. 17th October. No UK released date has yet been announced.
