Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

Christopher Markus believes that the Black Widow will be a great co-star for Steve Rodgers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

It was revealed earlier this week that Scarlett Johansson would be reprising the role of Black Widow in the second Captain America movie alongside Chris Evans.

This is the first stand alone Captain America that will address the face that Rodgers is now in the 21st Century.

We saw plenty of great interaction between Captain America and the Black Widow in Avengers Assemble last year and script writer Markus believes that they are a good team.

Speaking to Collider he said: "Black Widow is a great - both in attitude and in profession - a great contrast to Steve Rogers.

"She’s incredibly modern, not very reverent, and just very straightforward whereas Steve is, you know a man from the 40s.

"He’s not a boy scout, but he is reserved and has a moral centre, whereas her moral center moves."

Filming on Captain America: The Winter Soldier is underway with Anthony and Joe Russo in the director's chair.

Samuel L. Jackson and Hayley Atwell will also be back while Robert Redford, Emily VanCamp and Anthony Mackie are new additions to the cast list.

Captain America: The Winter Solider is released 4th April.
