Christina Hendricks says she is feeling some anxiety about starring in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut How To Catch A Monster.

Hendricks and Gosling worked together on Drive and now they are set to reunite as the Oscar nominated actor has cast her in his movie.

And Hendricks reveals that Gosling has been involving her artistically with the film as they prepare to begin filming later this year.

Speaking to Flare magazine the actress said: "[Ryan] called me and asked me if I was interested in doing this film and I said, 'One, of course, yes, and two, why me? And three, I don't want to disappoint you'."

"He's been fantastic, involving me artistically and letting me be along the road of casting and costume design. I've seen story boards and imagery and I've heard music.

"It's the largest role I've ever had, so this is one I'm definitely aware of my anxiety about."

Saoirse Ronan, Matt Smith and Ben Mendelsohn are also on board with the movie while Gosling has also penned the script.

How To Catch A Monster is set for a 2014 release.
