Cillian Murphy

Cillian Murphy says it is all about the work and he has no interest in being a celebrity.

Murphy has starred in movies such as Inception and Batman Begins in recent years, and yet he remains a low-key actor.

He admits that he has no desire to be in the spotlight all of the time and reveals that he admires Matt Damon, who has the ability to make huge movies and yet has kept his private life in tact.

Speaking to InStyle Magazine the actor said:

"For me, it's just about the work. If you behave like a celebrity, you'll be treated like one. I admire people like Matt Damon - he just continues to do brilliant work and that's it. That's the model I'd like to follow.

"I would never to want to lose the ability to go to the pub. I don't see the point in going to other people's premieres. Walking the red carpet is something I only endure under duress."

Murphy is currently working on the small screen, as he is part of the all-star cast of BBC series Peaky Blinders.

But we are going to be seeing plenty of Murphy back on the big screen over the coming months as he has already completed work on Hippie Hippie Shake, Cry/Fly and Transcendence: the latter sees him team up with Johnny Depp and Rebecca Hall.

Murphy is currently filming Heart of the Sea, and is starring alongside Chris Hemsworth and Ben Whishaw.
