Cinderella has already claimed the #1 spot at the U.S. box office and has seen that success repeated in the UK. The live action adaptation of the popular tale took £3.8 million to comfortably see off the challenge from animation film Home.

The movie sees Kenneth Branagh back in the director's chair, while Lily James plays the title character in the biggest film role of her career to date. So far, the movie has grossed in excess of $335 million worldwide.

Home slipped a single place to number two this week as it took a further £2.6 million. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water was the second new entry inside the top three, as it opened at number three this week.

Get Hard - which sees Will Ferrell team up with Kevin Hart - was also new at four, while The Divergent Series: Insurgent slipped three places from two to five.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel fell out of the top five for the first time this weekend as it dropped three places from three to number six. Despite some poor reviews, Seventh Son was new in at number seven.

Focus was this week's biggest faller, as it was down four spots from four to this week's number nine. Wild Tales was in at nine and was the fifth and final new entry inside the top ten this week.

Still Alice rounded off the top ten this week, having fallen two places from last week's number eight.
