Clive Owen has joined the cast of new movie Maggie's Plan.

Maggie's Plan will see Owen star alongside Greta Gerwig and Julianne Moore, according to Variety.com.

Owen will take on the role of John, who is captured in an unusual love triangle.

The movie sees Rebecca Miller return to the director's chair for her first film since The Private Lives of Pippa Lee: this is the fifth feature film of her directorial career.

Miller has also penned the screenplay, which is based on a story by Karen Rinaldi.

Rachael Horovitz, who was nominated for an Academy Award for 'Moneyball' in 2011, will share producer credits with Damon Cardasis and Miller, via Round Films and Specialty Films.

Filming is set to start in New York City later this year.

Blood Ties was the last time that we saw Owen on the big screen, but he has completed work on The Last Knights.

Kazuaki Kiriya is in the director's chair for the film, while Morgan Freeman and Aksel Hennie are also on the cast list.
