Cobie Smulders says that Captain America: The Winter Solider is a film that is reality based and completely different to Avengers Assemble.

The actress is set to reprise the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the second Captain America film.

Chris Evans is back in the title role in a film that will see him come to terms with being in the 21st Century.

Speaking to Crave Online the actress said: "It's an entirely different movie [from The Avengers] too.

"It's very much reality based and they try to bring the character into the world of now," she told Crave Online.

"He was very much affiliated with S.H.I.E.L.D. so watching that dynamic play out is what the movie is. He's working very closely with Romanoff, Scarlett [Johansson], so that's the pairing to focus on."

Evans, Johansson and Smulders are not the only familiar faces on the cast list, as we are going to see Samuel L. Jackson reprise the role of Nick Fury.

As for Smulders, we are also going to be seeing her play Agent Hill in TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - if she will appear in The Avengers: Age of Ultron is not yet known.

Away from Marvel projects she has also completed work on Delivery Man, They Came Together and has lent her voice to The Lego Movie.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released 2nd May 2014.
