Cuba Gooding Jr has signed on to star in Gridlocked.
Gooding Jr will take on the role of a former SWAT team leading in the new action film, according to The Wrap.com
The movie will see he actor team up with director Allan Ungar, as he returns to the director's chair.
This is the second feature film for Ungar, and he has worked with Rob Robol on the screenplay.
The story sees the former chief followed by an obnoxious movie star, who is shadowing him while researching a role.
However, the unlikely pair are forced to join forces when a team of mercenaries attack a training facility and the duo must organise its surviving members, while fighting for their own lives.
We last saw Gooding Jr on the big screen at the end of last year, as he was part of the ensemble cast of The Butler.
He will be back later this year with new slave drama Carry Me Home.
Peter Cousens is in the director's chair for the film, while William Sadler and Sharon Leal are also on the cast list.
