Ridley has revealed her Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-star has been offering her some advice ahead of the release of the highly-anticipated science fiction film, but Daisy insists nothing has changed for her just yet.

She said: "It wasn't really advice. It was more of a warning. He said that the anonymity thing is difficult, because as creative people you look to other people for inspiration and suddenly people are looking at you.

"It's like, chilled [at the moment]. A guy came up to me last week and it was so sweet. He was the first person to recognise me out and about. He was just really nice and it felt like a nice thing. I just really want to keep doing cool films. That's really it."

The 23-year-old star also opened up about the secrecy of the production, admitting it was difficult not being able to share any details with her family.

She told BBC's Newsbeat:"You wouldn't come back from your day here and be like, 'This happened, this happened, this happened, this happened.' It just becomes your work day. Obviously with trailers and stuff, I'm like, 'Hehehe,' because I like to see how they react.

"My mum doesn't really know what goes on in the world anyway, and neither does my sister. My other sister has more of a grasp on it. But everyone's been keeping it a secret and it's exciting for that reason. People are more excited because they don't know what's happening. So it feels like a good thing. So many incredible people have been involved in this and it's time to release this thing."
