Daniel Radcliffe, famous for playing boy-wizard Harry Potter, has been talking to education charity FILMCLUB about his new role in spooky new film Woman In Black.

Radcliffe has taken on a slightly more sinister role for the big screen adaptation of Susan’s Hill ghost story, which has been thrilling audiences for years as a stage production.

The actor told FILMCLUB about playing the role of widower Arthur Kipps and how different it was from playing Potter; 'Harry attacks everything and is a very energised character with a lot of purpose, and really Arthur has none of that.

'He is somebody who has been so devastated by a loss and in a state of emotional paralysis and can’t really move on.

'So I think the film generally and the character, are a lot darker than people are used to seeing perhaps.  I do look quite upset for most of the film!'

The charity, which helps schools set up and run film clubs to help educate young people through film and about how films are made, asked the director James Watkins to explain what was most challenging part of making the film was; 'When you’re directing a film your ambitions are always bigger than your budget and your schedule, so you’re always having to work really hard to make your day - you’re always rushing, and trying to rush, but not have things look rushed!'
