Evan Peters in X-Men: Days of Future Past

Evan Peters has dropped hints as to what we can expect from the character of Quicksilver in X-Men: Apocalypse, revealing that he is searching for his father.

Peter is set to return to the popular franchise for what will be his second X-Men movie; he was introduced in 2014 in Days of Future Past.

Speaking to Detail magazine about the film, Peters said: "My character is searching for his father and wants to find him." Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender, is Quicksilver's father.

"It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness. He tries to stop him from destroying the world."

Personally, it is great to see him back as he was involved in one of the best scenes in Days of Future Past when he, Logan and Charles Xavier broke Magneto out of prison. It looks like we are going to get a deeper look at the character this time around.

Apocalypse is the first X-Men film since the huge critical and commercial success of Days of Future Past back in 2014. Bryan Singer has returned to the director's chair and Peters is not the only familiar face on the cast list.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult are back as Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, and Beast. Rose Byrne, Lucas Till and Josh Helman are also back as Moira MacTaggert, Havok, and William Stryker.

But there are plenty of new names on board as Oscar Isaac, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee will be introduced as Apocalypse, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, and Nightcrawler.

X-Men: Apocalypse is just one of the movies that we will be seeing Peters star in next year as he has also completed work on Elvis & Nixon, which sees him star alongside Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon.

X-Men: Apocalypse is released 19th May 2016.
