Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures aren’t playing around when it comes to their shared MonsterVerse, and when Godzilla II: King of the Monsters hits the big screen, audiences will get to see not only the titular beast in action, but Mothra, Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidorah. This week, as part of San Diego Comic-Con, an official first trailer for the film has been released, showcasing some of the action and chaos we should expect. You can check it out below:
Directed by Michael Dougherty, and starring some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, such as Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins Kyle Chandler, and Ken Watanabe, Godzilla II will follow the crypto-zoological agency Monarch, as they face off against their toughest challenge to-date.
With ancient super-species once thought to be myths rising to cause carnage, humanity’s existence is left hanging in the balance, and it’s up to a team of potential heroes to ensure that when all is said and done, they’re the ones who come out on top.
This movie comes from a shared universe, which saw success with the 2014 release of the first Godzilla movie, before Kong: Skull Island made an impact in 2017. Whilst there’s still a little wait for this third entry to the MonsterVerse to hit the big screen, it’s still something we’re incredibly excited about seeing.
Godzilla II: King of the Monsters comes to cinemas across the UK in 2019.
