Helen Mirren will pick up the Bafta Academy Fellowship at the 2014 ceremony.

Mirren has enjoyed a career that has spanned over forty years, and the award will recognise her exceptional contribution to film industry.

Speaking about receiving this award, Mirren said: "This is the greatest professional honour I can imagine, certainly one I never dreamt of as a schoolgirl in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. To join that list of legendary names is overwhelming."

The likes of Judi Dench, Steven Spielberg, Michael Caine and
Anthony Hopkins are just some of the names that Mirren will be joining.

Mirren has starred in the movies such as The Queen, The Madness of King George, Calendar Girls and Gosford Park during her illustrious career.

She picked up the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen.

Mirren has previously won four BAFTAs and had a further seven BAFTA nominations.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) which will take place at the Royal Opera House, London on February 16.
