Hotel Transylvania 2 Makes It Two Weeks As UK #1

Hotel Transylvania 2 has remained at the top of the UK box office but looks set to be toppled this weekend by Spectre.

Hotel Transylvania 2 has made it two weeks as the number one movie in the UK as it took a further £2.2 million - so far, the movie has grossed just over £9.4 million at the UK box office.

The Martian was the only movie that was on the up this week as the Ridley Scott film jumped two places from last week's number four. The Martian has been both a critical and commercial hit globally and has grossed over £20 million in the UK alone.

Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension, which is set to be the final film in the horror franchise, was the highest new etnry on the chart this week, as it opened at number three.

The movie took over £1.4 million in its opening weekend on release but never came close to challenging for the top spot.

Suffragette fell two places from two to four but continues to be met well by both audiences and critics. The movie is expected to be in the Oscar mix at the beginning of next year.

The Last Witch Hunter marks the return of Vin Diesel to the big screen in what is the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week. The movie, which also stars Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, and Michael Caine, rounded off the top five at five.

Pan was one of two films to fall three places this week as it dropped from three to number six. Sadly, Pan has not been met well by the critics and has struggled at the global box office - it looks set to be one of the biggest film disappointments of 2015.

Sicario was down a single place at seven this week, while Crimson Peak was the other three place faller; dropping from five to number eight.

Tom Hardy's gangster movie Legend was down two at nine, while The Lobster slipped just a single place to this week's number ten.
