Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman says that The Wolverine feels 'fresh' and he is grateful that he had a chance to make the movie.

The actor was on the red carpet in London last night for the premiere of The Wolverine, which sees him return as the title character.

And while we may be familiar to Jackman in this role he says that there is a really different feeling to this film.

Speaking to the Press Association he said: "I always love Wolverine. For me, this film is the definitive movie about him.

"Even if you haven't seen the previous film or the X-Men movies, this feels fresh and really different. I'm just grateful we could make it."

Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Rila Fukushima and Hal Yamanouchi are all on the cast list, while James Mangold is back in the director's chair.

The movie is based on the much loved Japanese story arc from the comic as Mark Bomback and Scott Frank have penned the screenplay.

It has already been an excellent year for Jackman as he picked up a Best Actor Oscar nomination for his role in Les Miserables.

He will be back on the big screen this autumn as he teams up with Jake Gyllenhaal in drama Prisoners.

And he will be reprising the role of Wolverine once again as he will star in X-Men: Days of Future Past next year.

The Wolverine is released 25th July
