Jamie Dornan is rumoured to have signed on to play Christian Grey.
Dornan has been linked to the role ever since Charlie Hunnam walked away from the Fifty Shades of Grey film project earlier this month.
According to Variety the actor has now been made a formal offer by the Universal produced movie to join Dakota Johnson on the cast list.
Johnson will take on the role of Anastasia Steele in the film, while Sam Taylor-Johnson is in the director's chair.
Dornan has made a name for himself in TV with roles in the likes of The Fall and Once Upon A Time in the last few years.
Fifty Shades of Grey and Christian Grey is set to be the biggest film and role of his career to date.
Filming is expected to get underway next month with the film set to be released in August of next year.
The rest of the cast are yet to be announced, as only Jennifer Ehle is on board as Anastasia's mother.
Dornan will be back on the big screen next year in Flying Home as he teams up with Anthony Head and director Dominique Deruddere.
