Karl Urban has suggested that a second Dredd movie could well be a possibility.

Urban took on the title role in the 2012 film but it struggled at the box office and producer Adi Shankar said that a second film was unlikely.

But Urban hints that this franchise is not dead an buried just yet and that the fans have the power to potentially bring this character back to the big screen.

Speaking to Collider the actor said: "Interestingly enough, I did have breakfast with Alex Garland this morning. It's not off the agenda".

"Clearly everyone has woken up to the fact that an audience has found this movie and loves it. It’s entirely possible, and if people want to see another instalment then they should be vocal about that, because, it can happen.

"The power of fandom can resurrect projects. In fact, that’s what happened with Star Trek. They weren’t going to do a third season until fans did a letter writing campaign and they continued that series".

Urban did say earlier this week that he would consider reprising the role of Dredd if the opportunity arose.

The actor is currently enjoying box office success with Star Trek Into Darkness as he reprises the role of Bones in the second of J.J. Abrams' movies.
