Hitting cinemas next month, Life is the upcoming sci-fi thriller following a team of scientists all aboard the International Space Station. Hoping to make brand new discoveries while on their journey, the team’s adventure is turned into one of primal fear when they come across a rapidly evolving life form, threatening extinction on Mars. Taking hold of the planet more and more as each second passes by, the life form not only threatens Mars, but the life of the crew and everybody on planet Earth.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare and Olga Dihovichnaya, with the first three of those actors showcased in a gorgeous new poster for the film.

The promotional piece also warns; ‘Be careful what you search for’, again hinting that the threat found during the space adventurer’s journey is going to be more monumental and dangerous than anything mankind has seen before.

Despite being in territory that seems familiar, producer David Ellison previously told Screen Rant that there was a strong level of importance to make this release a unique one.

He said: “We’ve had the distinct privilege of being a part of several well-established franchises and it is such a privilege to work on Mission: Impossible and Star Trek and Terminator. But one of the things that we’ve always wanted to do from moment one was to actually build an original I.P. I mean, Star Wars is only now know… Because it came out of George Lucas’ mind, and I think… If the summer [of 2016] has said anything very loudly and clearly to audiences, it’s that that is what they are incredibly hungry for; stuff that feels original. And a lot of the movies that we’re making – Life, amongst others – [are] really venturing into that category.”

Life comes to cinemas across the UK on March 24, 2017.
