Logan Lerman

Logan Lerman has a lot in common with Percy Jackson.

The actor is set to reprise his heroic role in new fantasy adventure film 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters' and thinks he has similar traits to the half-human, half-god character he portrays in the blockbuster franchise.

He said: "I have a lot in common with Percy. Everyone has experienced self-doubt. I've felt that many times. I feel that on every film I make - initially I have to convince myself of my own worth and then go out there and try my best. I always go in very insecure, but I feel that anxiety and stress is fuel for the fire to try to find what I need to discover."

Although 'Percy Jackson' - which is based on Rick Riordan's best-selling young adult novels - is a hugely successful franchise, Lerman insists its not like a "typical" movie series because of the long gap between 2010's 'Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief' and the new adventure.

He explained to the Metro newspaper: "In a weird way, it's not your typical franchise film. If you look at other franchise movies out there, they shoot them back-to-back. These actors are locked in for seven years and make five films.

"'Percy Jackson' is completely different; it's a slow-moving franchise. I did the first one when I was 17 and shot the second one when I was 20. I had a lot of time in between to take on other projects, so it's like any other film except it is a big, international film."
