Mark Millar says a third Kick Ass movie is totally dependant on the success of Kick Ass 2.
Kick Ass 2 is set to hit the big screen this summer and comes three years after we were introduced to the characters of Kick Ass and Hit Girl for the first time.
The movie is based on the comic book by Millar and has been adapted by Jeff Wadlow, who is also in the director's chair this time around.
Writing on Twitter he said: "A third and final Kick-Ass movie obviously dependent on how many billions the second one makes. We'll know Monday after release."
Aaron Taylor Johnson and Chloe Moretz will be reprising the roles of Kick Ass and Hit Girl while Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jim Carrey are also on the cast list.
Kick-Ass opened to critical acclaim back in 2010 and the sequel is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year.
Kick Ass 2 is released 16th August.
