Matt Damon has called George Clooney 'one of the best directors working today'.
Damon has reunited with Clooney for The Monuments Men; which is their sixth film together. However, it is the first major role that Damon has had in a Clooney directed film.
Damon went on to say that The Monuments Men set was a great place to go to work.
Speaking to Flicks and Bits, the actor said: "He’s one of the best directors working today, without a doubt. I’ve worked with a lot of really great directors, and he belongs right on that list with all of those great ones.
"He really knows what he’s doing, and on top of that the set is a really fun place. You don’t have anyone melting down or going crazy (laughs), it’s a fun environment and everyone’s relaxed.
"He puts everyone in a position where they can do their best work, there’s nothing for anyone to be nervous about. It was a great place to come to work every morning."
The Monuments Men is the first directorial outing for Clooney since The Ides of March, and he has brought together another impressive cast.
Clooney and Damon star alongside Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman and Jean Dujardin.
As for Damon, we are going to be seeing him in smaller roles in The Zero Theorem and Interstellar later this year.
The Monuments Men is released 14th February.
