Michael B. Jordan has revealed that he was 'geeked' by the chance of landing the role of Johnny Storm in The Fantastic Four.

Jordan will reunite with director Josh Trank for the reboot of The Fantastic Four - which will see him star alongside Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell.

And the actor admits that he is excited about the role.

Speaking to vibe.com, he said: "I was like 'Oh shit. Man, that is ridic-- really? You want me to play that guy? Okay, cool.'

"It was just us two guys, two fanboys, just geeking out over the possibilities, or how it's going to be, and what we should do here, what we should do there, and the ideas we had for it.

"It just like two best friends just sitting there talking about our next science project. It was a lot of fun, a lot of excitement. I was excited. I was geeked."

Jordan will play the Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the film, while Teller will play Reed Richard, Kate Mara is on board as Sue Storm and Bell will play Ben Grimm.

Jordan teamed up with Trank for the first time in Chronicle back in 2012: the movie was Trank's feature film directorial debut.

Since then, Jordan has been making a name for himself with roles in That Awkward Moment and Fruitvale Station.

Filming on The Fantastic Four is underway, and will hit the big screen 18th June 2015.
