Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is in talks for 'Gods of Egypt'.

The 'Game of Thrones' star - who plays handsome warrior Jaime Lannister on the HBO show - looks likely to join yet another cult epic fantasy world after entering negotiations for the lead role of Horus, the god of the sky, in Alex Proyas' latest project.

The film borrows from ancient Egyptian mythology and sees Horus team up with Hathor, the goddess of love, and a human thief on a magical quest to avenge the death of his father, Osiris.

Proyas, the man behind 'I, Robot', will bring the story to life from Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama's screenplay, TheWrap.com reports.

While Danish-born Coster-Waldau is best known for playing villainous swordsman Jaime on 'Game of Thrones', he busy is adding an impressive list of Hollywood films to his resume.

This year, the 42-year-old hunk starred alongside Jessica Chatain in horror flick 'Mama' and appeared in Tom Cruise's latest blockbuster, 'Oblivion'.

He has just wrapped 'A Thousand Times Good Night' with Juliette Binoche and has started filming 'The Other Woman' Cameron Diaz.

Coster-Waldau plays the male lead in Nick Cassavetes' comedy, which also stars Leslie Mann, about a woman who discovers her boyfriend is married and hatches a payback plot with his wife.
