With just a few days to go until the release of Proud Mary in UK cinemas, starring Taraji P. Henson in the leading role of hit woman Mary, a pair of thrilling new teasers for the flick have been released. We’ve got our hands on both of the videos, with cast and crew discussing what we can expect from the film, which you can now watch below:
Mary may be a professional when it comes to taking down her targets, working for an organised crime family in Boston, but her life is completely flipped upside down when she meets a young boy following a hit going wrong.
The narrative and cast certainly seem strong, but to-date, the film has failed to light a fire in the bellies of critics who have been able to watch it. Currently, Proud Mary sits with a total score of 27% on reviews aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, with many saying Henson does more than enough in her role, but sloppy writing lets her down.
Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Danny Glover, Neal McDonough, Margaret Avery, and Billy Brown all also star in the action flick, which comes from director Babak Najafi and writers Christian Swegal, John Stuart Newman, and Steve Antin.
Proud Mary comes to cinemas across the UK on March 23, 2018.
