Samuel L. Jackson says we are going to see a very different side to Nick Fury in Captain America: The Winter Solider.

Jackson will be reprising the role of Fury in the Captain America sequel and we are set to see more fleshed out relationships between him and Steve Rodgers and Natasha Romanoff.

Speaking of his relationship with Romanoff, Jackson says we see more of a paternal side of Fury.

He told USA Today: "And when I talk to Natasha, it’s as a father figure because he loves her in a way that he doesn’t love anybody else as part of that whole group of people.

"The fact that they’re both members of this shadow world and he knows her past in a way that no one else knows it, there’s an affection and a respect there and a knowledge of that kind of person she is in there.

"Even if she loves him, if she had to kill him, she would, and he understands that. There’s a way of dealing with her that he can’t deal with anybody else."

Scarlett Johansson is back as Romanoff in the new film, while Chris Evans will be reprising the title role of Captain America.

It will be the first big screen appearance for both characters since we saw them in Avengers Assemble last summer.

Captain America: The Winter Solider is released 2nd May 2014.
