George Clooney and Brad Pitt will unite in upcoming movie

Director of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man films, Jon Watts, will be directing an upcoming feature that will bring two of Hollywood’s most popular actors back together.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt have starred in a small handful of films together over the years, but haven’t combined their forces for a while. They were both seen in the Ocean’s trilogy and Burn After Reading together, and now they will reunite once again under the watchful eye of Watts.

It is reported that many companies, such as Lionsgate, Apple, Netflix and Sony want their hands on this project, but who will get final dibs?

Stanley Tucci cast in Whitney Houston biopic

Stanley Tucci (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Hunger Games) has been cast in the upcoming biopic about Whitney Houston, titled I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Tucci will be taking on the role of Grammy-winning producer, Clive Davis, in the new feature. The film is in development by Sony and TriStar Pictures, and will follow the music and life of the late iconic singer.

Naomi Ackie will be playing Houston, and Tucci will of course be working with her closely; Davis, a lawyer who became a music producer, was one of the first people to recognise Houston’s intense talent.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody is set to release in December of 2022.

Dwayne Johnson confirms DC League of Super-Pets has wrapped

Popular actor and former wrestler, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has recently announced that his voice-over work for DC League of Super-Pets is complete.

Despite Johnson already being busy with Black Adam in the titular role, he will also be voicing Krypto, Superman’s dog, in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie (DCEU).

As you may have guessed, the animated movie will focus on the pets of the DC heroes we love so much. Marc Maron is Lex Luthor, and Kevin Hart will play Ace the Bat-Hound; other cast members include Keanu Reeves, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, and Kate McKinnon.

The exciting new movie will release in May, 2022.

The Revenant director completes filming on comedy adventure

Oscar-winning director of the beloved movie The Revenant, Alejandro González Iñárritu, has finished shooting his upcoming adventure comedy, Bardo.

Production for this film wrapped in Mexico City, and stars Daniel Jimenez Cacho and Griselda Siciliani in leading roles. Bardo is an independent production that has enlisted cinematographer Darius Khondji and production designer Eugenio Caballero.

The plot is said to follow a Mexican journalist and documentarian who returns to his native country, where he faces his identity, family ties, the somewhat ridiculousness of his memories, as well as a new reality for his country.

Florence Pugh on shortlist to play Madonna in biopic

Madonna herself has confirmed that Florence Pugh, who played Yelena Belova in Marvel Studios’ Black Widow (2021), is on the shortlist to potentially play the singer in her upcoming visual autobiography.

Pugh has starred in some brilliant films in the past few years, and has made a name for herself with her outstanding performances in films such as Midsommar and Little Women (both in 2019), and now it seems a brand-new and exciting role may be opening up for the young actress.

The biopic is rumoured to have hit some bumps along the way, as Diablo Cody (Juno) is said to have dropped out as she and Madonna had differing opinions. The film will be focusing on the singer’s younger years, and will tell viewers how she arrived in New York as a young girl to become a dancer, and how she became the icon she is today.

While some call for Paris Jackson to play the popular musician, Pugh’s name will no doubt be brought up again and again.

Clifford the Big Red Dog sets November release date

Clifford the Big Red Dog, the upcoming live-action movie starring Jack Whitehall, has been put back onto the release schedule, and has a shared cinematic and streaming release date set.

Paramount Pictures has announced that the film will release both in cinemas and on Paramount+ on November 10th, 2021. The movie has seen numerous delays and was even taken off schedule, but now audiences will be able to witness the giant dog’s crazy adventures rather soon.

The feature, based on a children’s novel of the same name by Norman Bridwell, follows young Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp), as she adopts a tiny red puppy. However, Clifford grows into a colossal dog, attracting a boat-load of attention from the residents of New York City.

Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy have been cast in new Mario movie

While Nintendo has generally kept its characters within the realm of gaming rather than TV and movies, they recently announced an A-list cast to take on the roles of some of their most iconic characters; which was quite the shock for fans.

Mario is the title of this upcoming animated adventure, and it already has an outstanding line of actors to voice the characters we all know and love; Chris Pratt, known best as Peter Quill in the MCU, will be voicing Mario himself, and Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) is Princess Peach.

Other cast members include Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses), Jack Black (School of Rock, Jumanji franchise), with Seth Rogan (Bad Neighbours) and Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele).

There is little information about the production thus far, but that only means we’ve got a lot to look forward to.
