Shane Black says that Chris Hemsworth is the 'perfect physical specimen' to take on the role of Doc Savage.
Black is set to return to the director's chair to bring the fictional character to the big screen.
Black has also penned the screenplay and is currently looking for an actor to take on the lead role.
Speaking to IGN the director said: "Here's the problem - they've kind of gotta be tall. He's the perfect physical specimen and when people look at him, they're overawed by the sort of symmetry and perfection that he exudes.
"I don't know that you could use like James McAvoy as Doc Savage. You couldn't do it. He's a fine actor, but we need someone big.
"Back in the day Schwarzenegger was talked about to play Doc Savage. I don't know who we'd get."
Doc Savage stories were released for the first time back in the 1930s and was a character that was created by Lester Dent, Henry Ralston and John Nanovic.
There is no word as to when this movie may begin production or hit the big screen.
