It was never in doubt that Star Wars: The Force Awakens was going to be a huge movie, but it has already grossed $50 million at the pre-sale box office.

The movie has already broke pre-sale records and this $50 gross - which is in America alone - is being reported by THR.

But just how much money is Star Wars: The Force Awakens going to generate at the box office? Will it become the fifth film of 2015 to gross over $1 billion?

I think it is safe to say that it will reach that milestone and it looks like it may threaten Jurassic World's 'highest grossing film of 2015' crown.

Jurassic World reached $1 billion in just thirteen days and that is another record that may be under threat when The Force Awakens is finally released. It has been one of the most anticipated films of the year and it looks like it will not disappoint.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the first Star Wars film to hit the big screen in ten years and will see J.J.Abrams take over the director's chair for the first time.

I am looking forward to seeing Daisy Ridley and John Boyega lead the cast as new characters Rey and Finn. Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, and Andy Serkis are just some of the other new names that will be on board.

However, there will be some familiar faces to watch out for as Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will be back as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Leia. We haven't seen anything of Luke in the trailers so far.

There's less than four weeks before Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released and it is going to be the biggest film event of 2015.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released 17th December.
