Liam Neeson has enjoyed huge box office success of late and that has continued this week as his new movie The Grey is the #1 film in America.

Once again this is more of an action role for Neeson, who has had hits with Unknown and Taken in the last couple of years, and the movie took $20 million in it's opening weekend.

Set in Alaska, an oil drilling team struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders.

The Grey toppled Underworld: Awakening from the top spot after just one week but the Kate Beckinsale movie dropped just a single place to number two.

One For The Money saw Katherine Heigl return to the big screen as he new movie was new in at number three.

Red Tails fell two place to number four this week while Man On A Ledge was the third and final new entry inside the top ten at number five.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close fell two place to number five while all of the awards buzz around The Descendants saw it movie up nine places from sixteen to seven.

Contraband was one of the biggest fallers on the chart this week as it dropped five places from three to eight.

Beauty and the Beast 3D was down three to  nine while Haywire was another five place faller as it rounded off the top ten.
